In this paper we propose a new method to detect the global scale of images with regular, near regular, or homogenous textures. We define texture “scale” as the size of the basic elements (texels or textons) that most frequently occur into the image. We study the distribution of the interest points into the image, at different scale, by using our Keypoint Density Maps (KDMs) tool. A “mode” vector is built computing the most frequent values (modes) of the KDMs, at different scales. We observed that the mode vector is quasi linear with the scale. The mode vector is properly subsampled, depending on the scale of observation, and compared with a linear model. Texture scale is estimated as the one which minimizes an error function between the related subsampled vector and the linear model. Results, compared with a state of the art method, are very encouraging. 相似文献

The influences of pressure, shear stress and temperature on the structure of zinc orthophosphate and zinc metaphosphate was investigated. Tribological tests were performed to study the combined effect of pressure and shear stress at two temperatures. Friction tests were carried out in the boundary lubrication regime from dispersions of zinc polyphosphates in base oil. The effects of pressure alone were investigated using a diamond anvil cell in order to separate it from those of shearing. Raman spectroscopy was used to follow in situ or ex situ the structural changes of the zinc polyphosphate powders and the tribo-stressed areas. Tribofilms obtained with both polyphosphates display a partial and full depolymerization of the zinc metaphosphate at ambient and high (120 °C) temperature, respectively. The large stress and strain conditions of the tribological tests are necessary to induce a tribochemical reaction between zinc metaphosphate and iron oxide leading to a depolymerization of the phosphate in the tribofilm. The tribochemical reaction and antiwear tribofilm formation are significantly enhanced by the modest temperature increase from ambient to 120 °C. Pressure alone induces only disordering in the structure of zinc polyphosphates, with only minor changes of the chain length in phosphates and does not contribute significantly to the observed structural changes in tribofilms. 相似文献

The thermal conductivity and the thickness change with pressure of several different micro porous layers (MPL) used for the polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) were measured. Internal stresses occurring in a stepped rounded D-ring compressed to 20% squeeze and pressurized with internal pressures of 0, 0.98, 1.96, 2.94, 3.92 and 4.9 MPa are analyzed using a photoelastic experimental hybrid method. At a pressure of 0 MPa and 20% squeeze, the photoelastic isochromatic fringes of the stepped rounded D-ring were almost symmetrical. As the internal pressure increased, the isochromatics shifted and curved towards the extrusion gap. By supplying a radius of 0.33 mm at the corners of the stepped D-ring, the high stresses at the sharp corners were reduced by up to 25%. These results further indicate that extrusion of the stepped rounded D-ring occurred at an internal pressure of 4.9 MPa which was about 25% higher than the pressure at which the extrusion of the stepped unrounded D-ring occurred. 相似文献

Diagnostics in ITER are mandatory to characterize the parameters of plasma and study its interactions with plasma-facing components. Diagnostics components in the vicinity of the plasma are supported by metallic structures called port plugs. At the tokamak mid-plane, these components are installed in port plugs through intermediate structures called drawers. Apart from hosting the diagnostics, the port plugs act as shielding against neutrons and gammas, in order to limit the nuclear loads in crucial components (such as diagnostics and superconducting coils) as well as the dose levels in the controlled zones of the tokamak. The radiation shielding function of the port plugs is ensured through an optimized mixture of heavy metallic materials and water, forming shielding blocks surrounding the diagnostics and called Diagnostic Shield Modules (DSMs). These DSMs constitute the rear part of the drawers (the front part being composed of the Diagnostic First Wall). This paper presents the main results of a study performed in Europe on the integration of a particular diagnostics port plug, the Equatorial Port Plug 1 (EPP1). The paper first provides the results of the EPP1 diagnostics integration analysis. In a second step it focuses on the design of the EPP1 DSMs and summarizes the major results of a thorough set of analyses aiming at studying the DSMs behaviour under different loads, suggesting recommendations to improve their current design. 相似文献

In Parkinson’s disease, aggregates of α-synuclein within Lewy bodies and Lewy neurites represent neuropathological hallmarks. However, the cellular and molecular mechanisms triggering oligomeric and fibrillary α-synuclein aggregation are not fully understood. Recent evidence indicates that oxidative stress induced by metal ions and post-translational modifications such as phosphorylation, ubiquitination, nitration, glycation, and SUMOylation affect α-synuclein conformation along with its aggregation propensity and neurotoxic profiles. In addition, proteolytic cleavage of α-synuclein by specific proteases results in the formation of a broad spectrum of fragments with consecutively altered and not fully understood physiological and/or pathological properties. In the present review, we summarize the current knowledge on proteolytical α-synuclein cleavage by neurosin, calpain-1, cathepsin D, and matrix metalloproteinase-3 in health and disease. We also shed light on the contribution of the same enzymes to proteolytical processing of pathogenic proteins in Alzheimer’s disease and report potential cross-disease mechanisms of pathogenic protein aggregation. 相似文献
